The Bears Boys' and Girls' Cross Country teams both took home IMAC titles last night at Battle Creek Regional Park in Maplewood. 

The Boys team, ranked 6th in the state for class AA, was led by Senior Will Eckes and his 3rd place individual finish. Freshmen Will Schwemm placed 4th and Eighth Grader Leo Mithun placed 8th to join Eckes as All Conference winners for the Bears. This was the first IMAC title for the Boys Cross Country team as they put a stop to Minnehaha Academy's nine year run as champs. 

The Girls team, ranked 9th in the state for class AA, had four place in the top 10, all earning All Conference awards: 2nd place - Freshmen Callie Arthur, 3rd place - Junior Zoe Goodman, 4th place - Senior Cleo Kilpatrick, and 9th place - Junior Hanna Hack. The Girls team has now captured 4 IMAC titles (2015, 2018, 2020, 2023) in the last 10 years.

Both teams will be competing in the Section 3AA Meet on Thursday, October 26th at Valleywood Golf Course in Apple Valley. Boys will race at 3:30pm and Girls at 4:15pm. If the Bears place first or second in the section meet they will advance to the State Meet on Saturday, November 4th at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Minneapolis.
