Lundberg's late goal sends the Bears to state for second time in three years

The Blake boys' soccer team is returning to the State Tournament for the second time in three years after a dramatic late goal by senior forward, Jake Lundberg, gave the team a 2-1 victory over Class A's #1 team, Totino-Grace.

Blake, the only team within the state to defeat Totino-Grace over the last two seasons (Blake defeated Totino-Grace 4-0 last season as well), went down a man after a red card was given out with 11:34 to go in the second half. Lundberg's heroics came with 1:40 left as he was able to re-direct a throw-in from senior Haluk Ercan-Fang.

The victory on Thursday night allowed the Bears to earn the #1 seed in the Class A State Tournament scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 24th when they will square off against Duluth Denfeld at Chisago Lakes High School. Kickoff is at 7:30pm.
