Spring Athletics Playoff Updates

PLAYOFF UPDATES

5/21/18

Boys Tennis -  Tennis finished the season 15-1 and an Independent Metro Athletic Championship, with their only loss being a 3-4 defeat to #1 Mounds View.  Currently ranked #2 in the State, the Bears have drawn the #1 seed in the 6AA Section Tournament.  In the round of 8, the Bears defeated the Orioles from St Louis Park 7-0.  In the Section semi's the Bears defeated the Millers from Washburn 6-1.  In the Section Finals they defeated the Edina Hornets 5-2 to advance to the State Tournament.  

In the individuals tournament, singles players Jack Barker (Section Champion) and Joe Mairs (2nd place) advanced to the State Tournament.  In doubles, Sujit Chepuri and Ben Peterson (2nd place) advanced to the State Tournament.  

The State Tournament is June 5th-8th at the Baseline Tennis Center at the University of Minnesota.

Synchronized Swimming - Synchro has advanced to the State Tournament with a 4th place finish this past weekend in Eden Prairie.  Some notable performances were Kara Gerads 1st place in the Long Solo, Caroline Hardy - Josie Lagerstrom - Kara Gerads 1st place finish in Trio Long and Long Team 3rd place. The State Tournament will be held on May 24th & 25th at the University of Minnesota's Aquatic Center. 

Baseball -- Baseball finished the regular season 10-5. In the first round of section playoffs they defeated  #11 seeded Maranatha Christian Academy 12-1.  They now travel to #3 seed Glencoe Silver Lake for a 5:30pm game on Wednesday.  Bracket found here

Girls Lacrosse -- The team finished the season with a 10-3 record, and clinched the Independent Metro Athletic Conference Championship.  The team received the #1 seed in sections, and will play Totino Grace on Thursday, May 30th at 5pm.

Boys Lacrosse -- The team finished the season with a 7-6 record, and clinched the Independent Metro Athletic Conference Championship.  The team received the #2 seed in sections and will host Totino Grace on Thursday, May 30th at 7pm.  

Boys Golf - Boys Golf is currently 3-0 in conference play with wins against Mounds Park, Providence and Minnehaha. The team has two more regular season matches and the year end 18 hole conference tournament before heading into section play. The section tournament is a two day event, May 25th and May 29th, played at River Oaks Golf Course in Inver grove Heights. 

Girls Golf - Girls Golf took 3rd in the early season 18 hole conference tournament. The team has one final conference match to play, along with the year end 18 hole conference tournament. The section tournament is a two day event, May 29th and May 31st, at Highland National Golf Course in St. Paul. 

Ultimate Frisbee -  Ultimate is currently 2-4 in league play. The team has one regular season match remaining before competing in the Minnesota High School State Tournament June 2-3 at the National Sports Center in Blaine. 

Track & Field - Track has their Conference Championships competition Thursday May 17th at Providence Academy. They end the regular season at Blake on Chub Bettels Field Monday May 21st. Section competition begins on May 31st and finishes on June 2nd. The Track & Field State Tournament will be located at Hamline University on June 8th & 9th. 

Clay Target - Clay Target competes every Wednesday and Friday leading up to the State Tournament. The State Tournament is being held in Alexandria on Tuesday June 12th. 

Softball - Softball finished their regular season with a record of 5-6 on the season. They lost their section playoff game on Monday May 21st at Glencoe. Season Over.
