The Blake Bears Boys Basketball team finished their 2017-18 season with a 11-14 record overall while posting a 2-7 record in the IMAC. The Bears ended their season in an overtime thriller against Southwest Christian in the section 5AA first round, 71-74. A few highlights of the season were the Bears starting the season on a 4 game winning streak, a buzzer beating shot to defeat IMAC rival St Paul Academy by Gabe Ganz, and a 60-59 win over 4A Mounds View on the road. This young team returns 4 freshmen, 5 Sophomores, and 2 Juniors for 2018-19.

The Blake Bears Girls Basketball team finished their 2017-18 season with a 13-15 record and a 5-3 record in the IMAC which gave them a 3rd place finish in conference. The Bears season concluded with a 1-1 record in section 5AA. They won their first round matchup verse Providence Academy on the road 39-34, but fell later that week to the #2 ranked team in the state Maranatha Christian Academy, 44-77. A few highlights on the season were sweeping Breck, beating Providence 2 out of 3 games this season, and wins over 4A schools North and South St Paul. The Bears return 5 freshmen and 4 Juniors for the 2018-19 season.

The Blake Boys Hockey team finished the season with an overall record of 16-9-1 and a conference record of 8-0. The Bears were crowned conference champions for the first time since 2010-2011 and only the second time in the past ten seasons. Signature wins were against Breck (twice), Orono (Class A State Champs), and Wayzata (#10 AA). The Bears were ousted in the Section 6AA Quarterfinals by Wayzata. This year's team featured 14 freshmen and sophomores included in their large group of returners for next season.

The Blake Bears Girls Hockey Team finished the season with an overall record of 24-2-2 and a conference record of 5-0. They were crowned conference champions for the sixth straight time. The Bears held the number one or two ranking in Class AA for the majority of the year. Playing one of the most difficult schedule in the state, the Bears suffered only two setbacks all year, both at the hands of Edina (Class AA State Champions), with the second one coming in the Section 6AA Section Final.
In addition to their high level of play on the ice, the Blake Girls Hockey Team was also named Minnesota's 2018 NFHS Spirit of Sport nominee due to all of the positive things that they are doing in the community. See story here.

The Blake Bears Alpine teams finished their 2018 season with much to be proud of. The Bears were named Independent Metro Athletic Conference Champions on both the boys and girls teams. The teams also had great individual success as well. Earning All Conference honors were Zach Dekko, Will Rekas, Nathan Girk, Sarah DeMane, and Anabella Walser. Earning All Conference Honorable Mention were Payton Crosby, Georgia Clark, John Erlandson, and Chaucer Countryman. A special congrats to Nathan Girk who qualified for the State Tournament at the Section meet with two strong runs.

The Blake Bears Nordic team finished their 2017-18 Winter season in 5th (Boys) and 6th (Girls) place in the IMAC. Skier Max Owens had a remarkable individual season as he earned All Conference honors and led the boys team to a 2nd place finish in the Pursuit race. The team loses a great group of senior leaders heading into the 2018-19 season but has plenty of young skiers set to take over where the seniors left off.

The Breck/Blake boys' swim and dive team, the Bearstangs, won its second consecutive state Class A title and fourth overall with 347 points; Breck/Blake also won in 2009 and 2010.
The Bearstangs won three events on its way to the title. Junior Spencer Pruett won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:36.66 and junior Anderson Breazeale claimed top honors in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.45. Breazeale and Pruett also swam on the 200 medley relay team that set a new Class A record of 1:33.60. Eighth grader James Pan and senior Julian Frerichs rounded out that squad.

The Blake Bears Fencing team had a wonderful year. This very young team started the year inexperienced, but made quick strides through the season. The participation numbers are strong, and only getting stronger as this team loses just three seniors.
At the State Meet, Blake had Lola Chamberlain and Richie Pihlstrom earn first team All State.
