In a game featuring two of top girls' teams in the state and 16 Division 1 committed players, it was the efforts that were done off the ice that may have impressed the most. The Blake girls hockey team took on the Edina Hornets last Saturday in front of a capacity crowd. The theme for the night was to raise awareness and money to make an impact towards putting an end to sex trafficking.

Prior to the start of the game, a check was presented to the Women's Foundation of Minnesota & Hennepin County for $112,740.00. Blake senior  CC Wallin, and juniors Maddie Tix, Grace Vojta, and Olivia Bizal spearheaded the effort. The Edina and Blake girls' hockey teams worked together in promoting the event. All proceeds, in addition to the check presented, from the event (bake sale, ticket sales, and donations) were donated as well.

As for the game on the ice, Edina defeated the Bears 5-2. The two teams have the potential to meet up again in the Section Playoffs, which begin in two weeks.
