Strong week for BGSD

The Blake Girls Swim and Diving team had a wonderful week.  On Thursday it defeated rival Breck in a tight meet, 97-89.  Then on Saturday the team won the Laker Invite at St Kate's.

Maddy Potter wins both the 200IM and 100BF and set a new Laker Invite meet record in the 200IM.  She also helped the 200 Med Relay (Sweet, Olson, Potter, Anderson) to a fantastic 3rd place finish from their 8th place seed.  Maddy Rondesvedt also had a great meet, finishing in the top 8 in both individual events along with moving the free relays up into podium finishes.

Angelina Hartley swims to a 4th place finish in both the 200 free and 100BF achieving class A state qualifying standards in both events.  She also dominated the field in the lead off position for both free relays.  Julia Landwehr was another swimmer finishing in the top 5 in her individual events with season best times.  She anchored the free relays and managed to out touch other teams in some close finishes.

"The team competed very well today and I'm impressed not only with the A relays but also the B and C positions" said Coach Rosenberg.  "Ultimately, those were the ones that really moved up to score big points for the team."

Up this coming week has the Blake Girls Swimming and Diving team taking on Academy of Holy Angels on Monday at Blake and Saturday they head to the Maroon and Gold Invite at the University of Minnesota.
