Girls' Track & Field Takes 2nd at State Meet

Bolstered by dual championship in field events by Jaimi Salone, including a record setting discus toss, the Blake Girls' Track & Field Team finished 2nd at the 2016 MSHSL Class A Track & Field Meet on Saturday, June 11.

The Bears were edged by just four points by Minneapolis Edison who captured the championship with 46 points.

Salone and teammate Cameron Downey finished 1-2 in discus, while Salone also grabbed the championship in shot put.  Salone's discus toss of 155-01 set a new Class A Meet Record which previously had been set in 1994.

Robbie Grace finished third in the 400-meter dash with a personal best time of 56.87.
