2019-2020 SMB WOLFPACK

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Beginning with the 2015 season, Blake is now part of the Wolfpack Football Team, a cooperative program with Minnehaha Academy and St. Paul Academy & Summit School.  The Wolfpack program consists of a Varsity and Junior Varsity, while Blake will field it's own Middle School team. Each team has a full and competitive schedule with the varsity season consisting of 8 regular season games followed by playoffs.  The program serves to develop athletes, leaders, and young men and provide them with a rich experience to reflect upon once they are adults.

The inaugural 2016 season was an incredible success.  The Wolfpack not only had success on the field, but the merger of the three schools was heard, seen, and felt positively through the hallways of each community.  An 8-0 record led to a Sub District Title.  A postseason loss to Mahtomedi ended the magical season.  Congrats to Head Coach Collin Quinn on being named District Coach of the Year!

Beginning in 2016-2017, all IMAC schools have agreed to play Fusion Football.  Fusion Football is an attempt by IMAC schools to teach the fundamentals of football, make it enjoyable and fun, all while attempting to increase participation numbers.  Essentially, it is what many call "thud" football.  Players will be using a velchro strapping system from our partners at Tackle-Bar.com.   The bars on the system are in the positions as identified by USA Football and their Heads Up Tackling program.  Other schools have called us wanting to learn more about the program at the Middle School level.  We hope that it is a success year one and continues to grow the game.
