Blake Boys Golf WINS State!

The Class AA State Boys Golf Tournament concluded on Wednesday at Ridges at Sand Creek Golf Course in Jordan, MN.  The Blake Bears Boys Golf team was there to defend their titles in 2015 and 2016.  

After Day 1, the Bears had a small lead over two impressive teams in Holy Family and Detroit Lakes.  Muggy air, gusting winds, and hot temps made play challenging for all the teams.  

The Bears fought off the challengers and the elements to walk away with the State Title after a strong showing on Day 2.  All 6 players scored under 80.  Derek Hitchner led the Blake Individuals, shooting a 73 and a 70 over the two days.  That was good enough to place 5th overall.  Ian Murray finished 10th, Campbell Morrison 23rd, Reece Sanders 31st, Sam Gelb 37th, and Peter Gullickson 44th.  

With the victory, the Blake Bears are back to back to back State Champions.
