Boys Lose to Eventual State Champion St. Thomas Academy

The Blake Boys Soccer team finished their remarkable season with a 4th Place finish at the Class A State Tournament. The Bears had the opportunity to play two games at the new U.S. Bank Stadium, as the home of the Minnesota Vikings played host to the MSHSL Soccer State Tournament semi-finals, finals, and third place games for the first time.

In the semi-finals, the #2 seeded Bears dropped a hard fought battle with St. Thomas Academy. The Cadets got on the board late and their lone goal proved to be enough.  The #3 seeded Cadets went on to defeat #4 seeded Northfield in the State Championship Game.

The Blake boys had a quick turnaround having to play #1 seeded Mankato West in the third place game the following day. Again tied 0-0 at halftime, the Bears gave up two late goals (one in the final seconds) to give the Scarlets the 3rd place finish and giving the Bears 4th place.

Blake finished the season with a record of 16-5-2. They were the IMAC Champions, Section 5A Champions, and finished 4th place in the Class A State Tournament!
